Serve Love Respect Vision (SLRV)
We do not deny the fact that truth is self-realized. But, without the wisdom of the wise, such a possibility seems unlikely if not impossible. In this day and age, where materialism is becoming the norm and spirituality has taken a back seat, it is much more imperative that the calling of a return to the heart is urgent. Coming from my own search for truth, I can understand how rare it is for many minds to access such a possibility when we come with so many distorted views due to the challenges in lifestyle and norms.
It is thus a time for rejoicing when I heard that the teachers are planning to set up a retreat village on such an auspicious piece of land which has the ancient roots of spirituality. Why am I so supportive of such a venture? Is it for my mind alone, this generation or why spend so much on this when there are so many spiritual places already set up in Malaysia? Allow me to testify on the beauty of this journey that I have embarked on. This teaching is rare and can only come from minds that have realized and are now sharing it with us. For me to access such a teaching, it is by no means called luck. For whatever reason or goodness done in the past, or call it Grace for simplicity, I can only say with gratitude that such a teaching has benefited not only this mind, minds of those in WISE but has the potential to reach out further to other minds. The world needs this for the roots of spirituality to spread its network far and wide, not only for now, but also into the future.
When one has tasted the fruit, there is a wish to give it back to the world. This is where the teachers must have come from and where I am coming from. When the heart is transformed through such a beautiful understanding, it is convinced that the precious Dhamma must be shared. Hence, the retreat village is the right place for minds to come together to share, learn and grow in the Dhamma. The Dhamma can come much more alive with a conducive place for it to encapsulate such a vision. It reminds me of the late Vietnamese teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, who set up Plum Village in France. His vision must have started as insignificant at first but it has now spread far and wide, becoming a testimony of how Dhamma is alive when minds come together to practise. Yet, having a vision without the necessary support will not yield its desired results. When hearts resonate in this vision, the coming together of other minds in the form of effort, funds and contribution in cash or in kind, can bring about the fruition of this noble place. May as many minds come together to partake in such a rare gift of the Dhamma for ourselves as well as for the world which is in need of such a rare and potent teaching to bring love, kindness and compassion back into our hearts. Sri Langkasuka Retreat Village will make this dream become a reality and we need your generous support.
If you are appreciative of the teaching and inspired to support this noble endeavour, we invite you to be a part of it by making a pledge at bit.ly/srilangkasuka now, offer your skills, and spread the word to others. Do visit www.srilangkasuka.com for more information.
With gratitude to Truth,
